  • Technology/Role/Department at Morgan Stanley,Operations Technology (OT) comprises of functionally aligned development teams who support critical firm functions such as Legal, Compliance and Operations. OT develops strategic solutions that support key business processes, including Settlements, Confirmations, Regulatory Reporting, Position Keeping, Anti-Money Laundering and Trade Surveillance
  • The Process Automation and Robotics department within OT, provides solutions in support of Operations processing of clients, developing and supporting a consistent set of platforms for Operations to control its client processing activities such as: trade inquiry; external trade matching; exception and workflow management, and business process monitoring. The Cross-Product Platforms Practice Area within the Process Automation and Robotics department is responsible for supporting a consistent set of platforms and frameworks to provide cross-product capabilities across processes and divisions and are used by over 6,000 users in the Firm,Qualifications,Key responsibilities,Build an end to end real-time data streaming platform in Java 8 and enhancements in payment system,Develop prototypes and proof of concepts for the selected solutions
  • Migrate complex big data projects from large, batch oriented and disconnected datasets into distributed data streaming pipelines
  • Work closely with users, QA and production management teams to ensure the product is defect free and production quality
  • Skills Required, Hands on Core Java (JDK 8 and above) skill is a must, Hands on with build and continuous integration tools (Ant, Gradle, Jenkins), Experience building and optimizing data streaming pipelines, architectures and data partitioning for parallel processing
  • Service Design Concepts, OO and Functional Development concepts
  • Experience writing scalable Messaging Producers and Consumers, Up-to-date overview of modern software development tools and techniques, Deployment of Web Services (REST and/or SOAP) to Tomcat, Expert Knowledge of: Threading, Collections, Exception Handling, JDBC, Java OOD/OOP Concepts, GoF Design Patterns, File I/O, and parsing XML and JSON, delimited files and fixed length files, String matching, parsing, building, working with binary data / byte arrays
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience in Apache Kafka and big data technologies is a plus,Additional Skills Desired, Linux, UNIX, Shell Scripting
  • Experience on software development building Data Streaming platforms using the following or equivalent technologies: Hadoop, Kafka, Spark, Flink, DB2, Greenplum, and MemSQL
  • Expertise in Big Data querying tools
  • Experience building distributed processes that support data extraction, transformation, load and workload management
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge
  • Experience in preparing data for Machine Learning integrating with big-data platforms and high-performance computing ecosystems
  • Banking / Financial Services experience is a plus.
