SQL Developer

Job Description

• Work with software architects and developers to plan design and optimize databases.Implement business and/or industry requirements through multiple phases of database design and development lifecycle (i.e. data modeling database architecture/design database development testing support/tuning etc.).Design and Document databases including tables keys stored procedures functions views indexes.Design and construct data feeds and data transfer/ETL processes based on the business and functional requirements.Work with Analysis Services SQL Data Warehouse.Administer and monitor the overall SQL server infrastructure including SQL server setup backup processes maintenance jobs SQL server configuration and overall security.Analyze and tune the performance of database systems and related SQL processes.Create and Maintain scripts to perform bulk data updates and scrubbing.Define database design and coding standards through peer code reviews and similar initiatives.University degree in Computer Science.Proven database development and administrative experience with Microsoft SQL Server (minimum of 2 years).Strong experience in troubleshooting and resolving data integrity issues performance issues blocking and deadlocking issues connectivity issues and security issues.Strong experience in performance tuning query optimization using Performance Monitor SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.Strong knowledge of SQL Server tools (Profiler DTA SSMS SAC SSCM PerfMon DMVs System Procedures).Microsoft SQL Server Certification would be considered an asset.Knowledge of T-SQL.Experience with data modeling and/or ERD tools would be considered an asset.Azure SQL Azure SQL Data Warehouse experience would be considered an asset.Reporting tools such Power BI SQL Report Reporting or others would be considered an asset.Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
