Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description

• AWS Infrastructure planning testing and development (including RDS).Deploy manage and operate scalable highly available and fault-tolerant systems on AWS.Determine areas for improvements to run the platform more efficiently/cost effectively.Data migration using Microsoft Data Migration (DMA).Improve automatic deployment mechanisms.Troubleshooting AWS issues.Investigate and implement new feature adoption.Analyse AWS release notes new functionalities bug fixes.Escalate issues (bugs) to AWS support and coordinate resolution.Implement different components of infrastructure (Monitoring Logs Management Consolidation tools etc.Responsible for product deployment and CI/CD tools like Jenkins.Select the appropriate AWS service based on compute data or security requirements.Identify appropriate use of AWS operational best practices.Backup and Disaster Recovery approach and design.Compute & Networking (EC2 VPN AMI RDS S3 Direct Connect Route 53 ElastiCache).Working experience with Cloud Computing Models SaaS.Build and support continuous integration (CI) continuous delivery (CD) and continuous testing activities.Experienced in full automation and configuration management.Expert understanding of DevOps principles and Infrastructure as a Code concepts and techniques.Allocating system storage and planning storage requirements for the RDS & EC2 systems.Masters or Graduation degree on Computer Engineering/ IT.Experience in operating AWS environments.AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate.AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate.AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional.AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional.Microsoft DP-200/201.Splunk Architect certification.MS Certification in Azure or SQL Server will be an added advantage.High level of academic achievement.RDS Experience with MS SQL SERVER 2008/2012/2016.Experience in Microsoft Data Migration.Strong fundamentals in Windows Operating system administration.Strong knowledge on dev-ops tools like Jenkins/Octopus Teamcity or similar technologies.Strong knowledge on source control tools like SVN/GIT/TFS.Experience of the Atlassian toolset in particular JIRA and Confluence is beneficial.Must have experience in scripting Python Ruby Javascript or similar.HTML XML scripting will be added advantage.Excellent problem-solving skills .Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to deal credibly with internal IT infrastructure demands.Can-do attitude.Strong experience in IT infrastructure Support in Financial Services environment (preferably Asset Management).Experience within a fast-paced fast-growth Tech start-up environment.Shift - UKThe position requires the candidate to work on weekends for the deployments (as and when needed).
