Job Description

• Overview The Visibility Services data science team is responsible for creating data science driven algorithms for IoT machine and business system data to be used for various service offers internal process improvements and customer engagements. The team applies broad knowledge of companys product and solutions as well as the machine learning and statistical modeling techniques to create cutting edge data driven solutions. As the Senior Manager Data Science you will be responsible for the development and implementation of proprietary machine learning algorithms and techniques to solve business problems and optimize our customer and partner experience. You will also be responsible for recruiting mentoring and managing a team of data scientists and data science supervisors. This role is both strategic and technical in nature and requires meaningful industry experience. As a Senior Manager Data Science you will be responsible for enriching our visibility services value proposition. This includes increasing the profitability of existing products building data analytics solutions for our customer and partners and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your knowledge of innovation in Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) and machine learning space. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Working with data sets of varying degrees of size and complexity including both structured and unstructured data. Implementing real-time model scoring to drive actions. Determine continuous improvement opportunities of current predictive modeling algorithms. Analyze review and track trends and tools in analytics and make build/buy/partner recommendations Maintain data science research cluster and track costs associated Mentor guide and develop Data Scientists within the team Act as a site lead for Product Management organization interfacing with local HR county head and senior leaders drive ESAT and employee engagement for the site and overall act as a liaison between Bangalore based data science team and Services leadership Drive innovation by fostering open high energy collaborative environment; led participation in innovation summit and expos recommend relevant training and conference for employees to attend publish papers and patent disclosures Work with Zebra key customers and understand their pain points which can be solved with data science and IoT capabilities. Work with Services Products and Software technical leadership to align solutions Help MSS Product managers with business cases market SAM/TAM competitive analysis and GTM strategy for data services and analytics related offering Travel as needed to visit customers partners attend seminars trade shows or meet area sales personnel. QualificationsJob Requirements MS or Ph.D. in an appropriate field (Computer Science Statistics Applied Math Data Science etc.). 3+ years of experience as a data scientist preferably with a consumer facing enterprise software environment 12+ years experience including at least 3 years managing multiple software managers/software engineers/data scientists in related discipline or technology industry Expertise in modern advanced analytical tools and programming languages including at least Python Scala and R. Efficient in SQL Hive Spark etc. Expertise in data mining algorithms and statistical modeling techniques such as clustering classification regression decision trees neural nets support vector machines anomaly detection sequential pattern discovery and text mining. Strong communication skills including written verbal and oral presentation skills as well as ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management managers clients and customers Ability to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial high-energy environment that requires the ability to multi-task and implement high priority initiatives Strong planning and execution skills Excellent skills in Microsoft business applications including Word Excel and PowerPoint Ability to travel 25% of time
